Koh Samui, Thailand

Assalamualaikum wrbt.

AHOOOOOI.

Setel masalah.

Brader mouse sebenarnya nak cepat ni, budak-budak dah tunggu kat depan kaunter ni ajak minum pagi. Maka brader mouse tak jadi la nak tulis panjang-panjang, brader mouse buat karangan ringkas budak sekolah je ok.

Kami sempat menaiki motor menjelajah segenap peloson pulau. Sesudah puas melihat tempat orang lain selama 4 hari 3 malam, kami pun pulang.

Sekian, terima kasih.

KUALA LUMPUR TO KOH SAMUI

Sawadikap!

1. It will take you approximately 3 hours to get to Koh Samui from Surat Thani Airport.
1h 30min from Surat Thani Airport to the jetty AND
1h 30min ferry ride to Koh Samui.

2. When you arrived at Surat Thani Airport, there will be Seatrans Transportation service waiting.
They will offer you two package;
i) Bus - Ferry BHT350
This package includes bus to the jetty, and ferry to Koh Samui. There will be FREE tuk- tuk ride from the jetty to Chaweng Beach OR Lamai Beach.
ii) Bus - Ferry – Van (to hotel) BHT 500
This package includes bus to the jetty AND van from jetty to the hotel.

3. I recommend you to take 2nd package. It cost you BHT150 more but it is more convenient and comfortable.

4. If you feel hungy upon arrival from Malaysia, be patient because they do sell food on the ferry at normal price. I bought sotong paprik for BHT50. Its delicious.
*When your hungry, everything is.

5. The ride from the jetty to Chaweng will be about 20-25 minutes.

6. They will ask you where you want to get off. Just tell them to drop you off at Chaweng Resort then you just walk around to find a cheaper one. The Chaweng Resort is in the center of Chaweng shopping area. So it will cost you more.

7. Previously we checked in at Akwa Guesthouse. Its the cheapest that we could find online. Its near the end of the shopping street. But, im sure there will be other cheap one. The price is the same whether you booked online or you walk-in.

8. There are three types of transportation that you could use.
i. Motor - rent for BHT150 –BHT200 (24HRS)
ii. Tuk-tuk – BHT50 per destination around Chaweng.
iii. Car – dont know the price.

9. If you want to shop for souvenirs. Wait till Sunday night. Go to Lamai Night Market at Lamai Beach. Things are cheaper there. You could go there by motor or tuk-tuk.
*I recommend you go by motor.

10. If you want to go snorkeling (about BHT1500, breakfast and lunch included) arrange it with any travel tour outlets you could find around chaweng. You could also arrange many other things with them but trips like Elephant Ride (BHT900 for 1 elephant/4 person) better go to the Waterfall yourself. Its not that far from Chaweng. Signboards are everywhere.

11. For muslims, the best muslim restaurant is near Lamai, on the streets headed to nearest waterfall. There are 3 other muslim restaurant that you could find in Chaweng but the last time we went there, the food was not like what we expected. One restaurant is the well known Fareast, the other is in front of Chaweng General Hospital, and the third one is 5 minits away from there (Chaweng General Hospital).

12. There are a few Arab restaurant along Chaweng beach, so dont worry. The only problem is shops usually opens at 9 am. So it will be difficult if you the "morning person anywhere anytime" type.

Thats all i think, if this guide is not enough, GOOD LUCK.

KOH SAMUI TO KUALA LUMPUR

1. There are two ways getting to Surat Thani Airport from your hotel at Chaweng.
i. Arrange your transportation with any travel tour booth you can find around Chaweng.
ii. Wait for tuk-tuk in the morning. You must depart from your hotel 4hours
before your flight departure time.

2. I suggest you depart at 6 am from your hotel. You will take the 7 am ferry. The ferry ticket includes van ride to the airport. BUT! In case the van stopped halfway, like what happened to us, just take off and look for a tuk-tuk. Dont take the one they suggested. Last time it cost us 200 baht per person to get to the airport (sum of BHT800). Just say you want to look for breakfast first or something, then look for a taxi or anything that cost cheaper.

3. Better buy something to eat the night before you leave because theres not much to eat at the airport especially for muslims.

4. Have a safe journey back and welcome home.

Hey ho! lets go!

FREE.
